We’re moving to Japan.
I can finally write this with complete certainty, and that, my friends, makes me very excited.
Let me say it again.
WE’RE MOVING TO JAPAN.
A few weeks ago, Caleb and I were officially offered jobs in Tamura, Japan; a rural city in Fukushima, about 200 miles north of Tokyo.
We couldn’t be more thrilled to receive and accept these job positions, and know that this is what God has planned for this next season in our lives.
To answer a few potential questions:
1. We are not going to Japan as missionaries or volunteers. We have student loans to pay off and will be paid workers.
2. Our goal of becoming full-time missionaries hasn’t changed. Going back to Peru as Missionary Associates is still very much on our hearts, and is currently what we have planned for our post-Japan life.
3. We have complete peace about moving to a place that we’ve never been before, and we’re not worried about the food we’re going to eat. We’re both super adventurous and really love sushi.
4. We move out of our apartment on February 14th, will be traveling to New York & Florida to say our goodbyes, and leave for Japan at the end of March.
Moving away from our families and friends for two years will certainly be challenging, but we hope to use this blog as a place where we can provide updates about our lives overseas.
As always, we appreciate any and all prayers/encouraging words as we make this huge move!
